Recent Works: Summer 2012

This gallery features recent Hammerhead projects, including the Invisible Fire Pit, which is built in to a small patio in an Asheville yard. To make the most of the space available, the fire pit below the level of the patio and is covered with a single piece of flagstone. This hides the fire pit, making it invisible, which means the homeowner has full use of all of their patio space. Since the stone is fairly large and quite stout, I installed handles to help life it. The handles are recessed into the stone’s surface, so that they too are almost invisible and that they don’t present a trip hazard.
